Potty Training

Why did I learn so many useless things in school that I will never use (calculus) but not something I have no clue about and need? My daughter talks in full sentences, says please and thank you, and can open and close the baby gates and the refrigerator, but she refuses to sit on the potty.

She's done it a few times, but whenever she gets the "look" I ask her if she wants to go sit and she yells "no!" and runs away. I tried to make her once and she threw a fit. I don't want to scare her away from it so I won't force her. I got some really cool Elmo undies that she loves to wear, but when she has to go potty she either wets them, or takes them off and brings me a diaper.

I tried giving her rewards- stickers and toys. She didn't care so I even resorted to candy. It worked at first, but the novelty wore off.

I let her run around with no diaper on for a while because someone told me she wouldn't like making a mess. Wrong. After I cleaned up a few of those messes I put the diaper back on. I don't have my dogs in the house for the same reason.

She's very stubborn. At this rate it seems like she'll be going to high school wearing diapers.
